At the office of Dr. DeRosa in Saugerties, we know that good oral hygiene is crucial to avoiding the loss of natural teeth. Losing even one tooth can have a major impact on both your oral health and your appearance now and in the future. While we do everything we can to prevent the loss of a tooth, sometimes tooth extraction is necessary. Dr. DeRosa will only recommend extraction after a thorough and careful examination.

Extractions are performed in the safety and comfort of our office. You may experience some discomfort after the procedure, but this is normal and can be reduced with ice packs applied to the cheek for 15 minutes at a time. After a routine extraction, you can expect the discomfort to subside within one to two days. If you experience prolonged and/or severe pain, bleeding, or swelling, or a fever, contact our office as soon as possible.
